Natural Farming

Natural Farming is a technique, which involves the cultivation of plants and rearing of animals in natural ways and where no chemical has been used in the last 5 years in form of fertilizer or pesticide. Identifying such a land was not easy but with determination and commitment the first land was identified at Bilaspur, UP the Terai Belt or the foot hills of the Himalayas.

In the quest for growing some herbal spices and knowing that Himalaya has been the store house of exotic and rare herbs and plant a Village Bana, In Nanital District of Uttarakhand was identified and our Second Farm came into existence

Our specialty is our herbs and spices. We grow our own spices like turmeric, coriander, ginger etc., by ourselves in our farms in Bana and Bilaspur. We believe in quality, not in quantity. It’s our vision and commitment to give best taste and healthy food to our guests. In recent time period we realized that to maintain the quality of ingredients, which we use in our recipes is very important. We use biological materials to maintain soil fertility and ecological balance thereby minimizing pollution and wastage. We avoid using of synthetic based fertilizers and pesticides.

Bilaspur Farm

Mr. Joseph first owned and managed natural farm in the plains, at Bilaspur, some 50 kilometers from Haldwani. The Bilaspur farm produces Rice, fruits and vegetables. Bilaspur is a small town of UP and comes under Terai Belt. Such Land is fertile, easy for irrigation, good climate condition and plenty of water.

In 2008 Mr. Joseph owned farm in Bilaspur and started cultivation of Rice fruits and vegetables here. He helped the local farmers to learn the modern but sustainable farming which is easy and profit making. He also made sure if the crop is grown as desired he would buy their crops and vegetables at a better price than the market.

Bana Farm

Mr. Joseph owned his second natural farm– a farm in the hills, at Bana near Nainital The decision to have one farm in the hills was intentional. Bana is the pre British era village. The Bana farm hosts cultivation of ginger, garlic and turmeric; the location and altitude of the place adds to the quality of the produce. The atmosphere of Bana is totally suitable for herbs and spices. Bana is the place of cultivation of ginger, garlic, turmeric etc. since many centuries.

Mr. Joseph not only use Bana for Natural Farming, but he also helps to locals in different manners. He provides medical helps to villagers in need. He is planning to setup a masala processing unit and home stays at Bana to stop migrating and help locals to earn money in their own village.
